The Equalizer 3

The trilogy is finished this weekend with the release of The Equalizer 3. After abandoning his life as a government assassin, Robert McCall seeks solace in dispensing justice for the oppressed. Settled in Southern Italy, he uncovers that his newfound friends are under the sway of local crime bosses. As the situation escalates into a life-threatening ordeal, McCall assumes the role of their protector, confronting the mafia to ensure their safety.

What follows is The Good, The Bad, and The Spoilers of The Equalizer 3.

The Good

The Equalizer 3 has a fantastic story with lots of action, keeping up with the excitement of the previous films. And, of course, Denzel Washington is amazing once again, bringing his usual intensity and charisma to the character. It's a solid addition to the series. Loved seeing Washington and Dakota Fanning working together once again.

The Bad

The major problem I had with The Equalizer 3 was that Dakota Fanning’s character supposedly has no idea who Robert McCall is when they finally meet. At the end of the movie we learn that she is the daughter of McCall’s close friend who died in the previous film. McCall was so close to this friend that he was in her house, knew her husband, attended her funeral, and even worked to avenger her death. Despite all this, the audience is expected to believe that the daughter had never met him?

My Overall Opinion

I give The Equalizer 3 a score of 8 out of 10.

When I found out that this actor was Robert Patterson, I was genuinely intrigued.   Talk to Me is the newest scary movie to hit theaters. A group of teenagers discover that they can use an embalmed hand to communicate with the dead. The experience is addicting and they soon relish the thrill to keep using the hand. Unfortunately, their game had frightening supernatural consequences. What follows is  The Good, The Bad, and The Spoilers  of  Talk to Me . The Good I love a good horror movie, sadly a lot of horror movies over the last few years focus on jump scares more than the actual story. However, Talk to Me does a great job delivering an original story, filled with more chilling moments, then actual jump scares. (There are still plenty of those) The story is intriguing and will keep you questioning what is real and what is not throughout the entire film.   By far my favorite aspect of this movie is the ending. The Last Voyage of the Demeter

  The Last Voyage of the Demeter sailed into theaters this past weekend. This movie gives life to the captain’s log in Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”. The crew of the merchant ship Demeter sailed to London, as they have countless times before. What should be a routine job and hefty bonus, soon becomes a fight for survival as the crew learns that there is a monstrous presence aboard. What follows is  The Good, The Bad, and The Spoilers  of  The Last Voyage of the Demeter . The Good While the story The Last Voyage of the Demeter is based on excerpts from a classic horror novel, the idea to bring these logs to life was genius. This film provides a story to the events that took place over a single chapter in the novel. While those of us who have read the novel know how the story will end, it did not change the intrigue in seeing how the story would play out.
